Rescue Academia


Set in Minamisōma, Rescue Academia will follow a group of young teenagers as they study to become rescue workers with the help of unique rescue robots. Animator / mechanical designer Toru Yoshida is attach to the project, as are voice actors Yui Makino and Taku Yashiro. Rescue Academia aims to begin broadcasting in 2018.

The story will be set in the city of Minamisouma in Fukushima prefecture, and will center around a down-and-out protagonist who gets to know a robot while working rescue efforts. It will depict the friendship and growth of a group of children alongside the robot. Local traditional crafts such as Ouborisoumayaki pottery will appear in the story. Fukushima Gainax is producing the anime to promote Fukushima's "Innovation Coast" initiative that aims to revive industry and tour.

Release date

The anime is currently in production, and is slated to be finished in 2018. The project is aiming for television broadcast. Asao hopes that, through the anime, a lot of people will head to Minamisōma.

    The plot summary seems a bit too detailed like…??? i feel like i know whats going to happen (I haven’t watched it yet) ;););)

    Eventhough im generally not a fan of this type of anime this anime has some great characters
