Together, the grosses of the original films is a staggering $2.5 billion. Last year’s The Secret Life of Pets, which bowed on July 8, ended up grossing $368M domestically and has taken in a whopping $875M globally. Minions, released the previous year also in July, is Universal/Illumination’s billion-dollar baby with $1.159B — $336M of that collected stateside. And Sing, which was released late last year, on Decemver 21, has so far grossed $425M worldwide.

It will face SW:IX’ 3rd weekend, and on it’s own 3rd weekend will face ToyStory4. Not a long run for Pets 2 imo. 2019 is not a good summer, Disney will cannibalize most of the boxoffice with Infinity War 2, Episode 9, Toy Story 4 and Lion King. They will even cannibalize at some point their own movies legs.

Disney has 5 movies in 2019 that have the potential to cross the billion mark: Avengers 4, Star Wars IX, Toy Story 4, The Lion King, and Frozen 2. Avengers 4 and SW9 in particular are just 3 weeks apart. I think that will affect the legs of those movies.

The first one wasn’t really that good. It was just a cheap rip-off of “Toy Story” with a little bit of “Toy Story 2” thrown in there as well. Hopefully, the sequel will at least be better.

Its not just similarities its also same drawings just with a different characters. I’d understand if they made a reference or try to find inspiration but they pretty much copy and pasted scenes from all 3movies into a comedy.

Literally watching this SOLELY because comedy heavyweights: Louis CK, Eric Stonestreet, and Kevin Hart collectively came around to doing what Eddie Murphy did A LOOOONG time ago… Making MORE MONEY voicing an animated donkey than he EVER did dressed as the entire cast of a family of fat Klumps…..
